Job Title: Front Office Intern
Location: Kisii
Job Type: Internship
Main Purpose: Reporting to the In-Charge Front Office, the successful candidate will learn and gain practical experience on the job by supporting the front office team in the delivery of services efficiently and effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities shall include but not limited to:
- Meeting with clients first hand
- Directing clients on where to get different services in the hospital.
- Answering telephone calls.
- Handling cash in the absence of the cashier.
- Liaising with doctors on various services.
- Receiving guests and directing them.
- Checking insurance details for clients.
Job Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Business Management/Business Administration.
- Certification in Front Office Management/Secretarial will be an added advantage.
- Must be of high integrity
- Comfortable with computer applications
- Customer friendly.
- Well versed in Microsoft applications e.g. Word, Spreadsheets, Publisher etc.
- Ability to multitask
- Transparent and honest.
Duration: The Internship shall run for a non-renewable period of three (3) months and the successful candidate shall receive a monthly stipend during this period.
Job Title: Nurse
Location: Kisii
Job Type: Full Time
General Description: To provide comprehensive medical and nursing services to all patients in order to assist them regain good health. To promote and restore patients’ health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; supervising assigned team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
- Maintains nursing guidelines by following the laid down Standard Nursing Policies and procedures.
- Adhere to duty Rosters and Patient Allocation; Assess, Plan and implement nursing care using the Nursing process framework.
- Maintain the nursing ethos as prescribed in the Nurses’ Act Cap 257 of the Laws of Kenya and the Hospital regulations.
- Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
- Maintain a therapeutic environment with other health and non-health professionals to uplift multi-disciplinary team spirit.
- Promotes patient’s independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching and counseling patient, friends, and family and reinforcing their understanding of disease, medications, and self-care skills.
- Provides information to patients and health care team by answering questions and requests raised by clients.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by following the stipulated nursing guidelines.
- Protects Self, patients and employees by strictly adhering to Infection Control Measures.
- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by monitoring confidential information processing.
- Maintains documentation of patient care services by diligently and faithfully filling all necessary patient documentation.
- Achieves financial objectives by utilizing available resources, using medical equipment correctly and billing promptly services offered.
- Update inventories daily and ensure emergency equipment are updated on a daily basis.
- Supervise the Patient Attendants and Interns.

Job Title: Medical Officer
Location: Migori
Job Type: Full Time contractual
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the OPD/Emergency/Ward and assist the consultants
- Initiate and monitor treatment;
- Conduct medical procedure under supervision after getting the consent from patient’s attendant.
- Accompany consultant doctors on IPD Ward visits
- In the absence of the Consultant – Pay timely visits to In – patients and treat the patients along the indicated line of treatment
- Attend emergencies and informing consultant doctors for further action.
- Check and authorize all diagnostic requisition slips.
- Ensure that duties and functions are undertaken in a manner that prioritizes the safety and well-being of patients;
- Assess patients on admission and/or discharge as required and write detailed reports in the case notes;
- Consultations should not only be limited to actions beyond their scope, but also in uncertain situations as well as where extra assistance would improve performance
- Mentorship & supervision of clinical attachees
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests;
- Providing information regarding the patient’s condition to his/her attendant whenever required.
- Communicate effectively with patients and clients;
- Attend clinics and participate in relevant meetings, case conferences and ward rounds; followed by documentation of findings on each patients’ chart; follow through with actions arising from the round;
- Represent the department / profession / team at meetings and conferences as appropriate;
- Participate in multi-disciplinary clinical audit and proactive risk management and facilitate production of all data / information for same; co-operate with investigations, enquiries or audit relating to the provision of health services;
- Maintain professional standards in relation to confidentiality and ethics; abide by the Kenyan Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board
- Seek advice and assistance from the consultant / clinical director / employer with any assigned cases or issues that prove to be beyond the scope of his / her professional competence in line with principles of best practice and clinical governance;
- Cover for occasional unplanned absence of colleagues;
- Perform other duties as required by the supervising clinical director /employer;
- Ensuring compliance with legal requirements
- Providing input in various internal committee meetings on matters relating to clinical services e.g. Quality assurance, infection control, MAC etc.
- Participates in developing and monitor implementation of policies and procedures
Job Requirements
- Degree in Medicine from a recognized University
- Be registered with Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- 2 – 3 years Medical experience
- Ability to plan and deliver care in an effective and resourceful manner.
- Computer literate.
