Job Description

As a multidisciplinary service provider, our clinic contains a number of on-site services that would not be available at a typical provider.

Dentist

  • Location Nairobi

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The job holder will be responsible for diagnosing, treating and advising on various dental issues. The key objective for this role will be to promote and maintain good oral health among our patients which will involve not only treating existing dental conditions but also educating individuals about preventive dental care practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Examining teeth and diagnosing patients’ dental conditions by using tools such as x-rays
  • Treating pathological conditions of the oral cavity
  • Performing dental surgery, including the extraction of teeth and roots, removal of impacted teeth
  • Analyzing oral radiographs for diagnostic purposes
  • Prescribing medications for infection control, pain control, and for the control of viral, bacterial, and fungal infections
  • Providing instructions in oral hygiene and methods of preventing the spread of oral diseases.
  • Reviewing medical histories and records dental treatment in medical charts to ensure that treatment plan does not compromise patient health
  • Assessing treatment options and agreeing on treatment plans with patients
  • Carrying out agreed clinical treatments such as restoring teeth affected by decay and  treating gum disease
  • Maintaining patients’ dental records and information by entering patient details in the information system (computer) or other patient records
  • Providing guidance to dental nurse and receptionist in delivering patient care and coordinating appointments
  • Attending meetings, forums, seminars and workshops organized by the management
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality and treats staff,  physicians   and patients with dignity and respect
  • Liaising daily with medical/non-medical staff including other doctors and healthcare professionals for effective care delivery
  • Preparing operational reports to the management for various activities and operations undertaken
  • Performing any other related duties within the clinic as may be assigned

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor degree in Dental Surgery from a recognized university
  • Registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and dental council
  • At least 3 years relevant post-qualification experience
  • Thorough knowledge of the practices and techniques of dental surgery and treatment
  • Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care
  • Should demonstrate high levels of compassion, integrity, commitment and professionalism

Dental Assistant

  • Location Nairobi

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To assist the dentist with all clinical aspects within the surgery.  He/she works closely with a qualified dentist or oral surgeon; ensuring dental sessions and appointments run as smoothly as possible.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing and coordinating patients appointments
  • Greet and care for all patients in a polite and courteous manner at all times
  • Provide customer care services to dental clients in co-operation with receptionist
  • Preparing equipment and ensuring dental rooms are clean, sterile and stocked with required supplies and materials before  and during any treatment or surgery/procedures
  • Ensure adequate stocks of expendable drugs, materials and instruments are available
  • Facilitate calculation of treatment costs and explaining them to patient
  • Liaise with receptionists on scheduling, delaying or postponing  appointments
  • Assist patient into surgery, settle them on the chair, assure them and prepare them for treatment
  • Produce instruments and materials as necessary during treatment
  • Provide chair-side assistance during all dental procedures such as examinations, fillings, extractions, cleanings
  • Ensure all lab work is checked and available prior to patients arrival
  • Ensure all clinical waste is disposed of in the appropriate manner
  • Escort the patient from the surgery and when necessary to the reception and waiting area
  • Ensure all equipment are maintained as per manufacturer’s instructions and are cleaned appropriately
  • To enter treatment details onto computer systems and other patient records
  • Make telephone calls to remind clients on appointments and attend to telephone calls in a
  • Preparing duty rosters, schedules and making effective work arrangement in the section
  • Maintains strict confidentiality, and treats staff, physicians, visitors and patients with dignity and respect
  • Preparing operational reports to the management for various activities and operations undertaken
  • Performing any other related duties within the clinic as may be assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

  • Diploma in Dental Technology
  • At least two years’ experience preferably in a busy dental practice.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work without supervision.
  • Excellent customer service and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Human Resource Officer

  • Location Nairobi

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The job holder will be responsible for managing the full HR cycle that includes recruitment, new-employee orientation, performance management, employee relations among others.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruitment

  • In consultation with hiring managers, the job holder will manage the recruitment process. This includes: recruiting, sourcing and identifying talent including having proactive discussions with hiring managers about vacant roles.
  •  Advertise vacant positions, maintain a data bank of received applications. Prepare shortlists of candidates, conduct interviews in liaison with hiring managers.
  •  Prepare employment contracts and facilitate probation evaluation.
  •  Conduct reference check for successful candidates.
  •  Plan and conduct orientation for all new staff.
  •  Develop job descriptions for new positions and update existing ones as necessary.
  • Prepare recruitment reports.

Staff Benefits & Payroll Management

  • Preparing monthly payroll with Finance office.
  • Support Finance & Administration team during salary payments and ensure pay slips are issued on a monthly basis.
  • Oversee the staff welfare activities

Staff Database Management & Filing

  • Maintain an organized filing system and personal files as per the HR handbook for all staff.
  • Maintain leave records and updating leave tracker.
  • Ensure that staff employment contracts are up to date.
  •  Prepare regular HR reports.
  • Conduct the HR FILE AUDIT checklist on quarterly basis to ensure that personnel files are complete, organized, and secured.

Staff Welfare, Disciplinary Actions and Grievances

  •  Participate in investigation and disciplinary hearings as required.
  • Advise managers in dispute and conflict resolution.

Exit Management

  • Conduct exit interviews, analyze findings and submit recommendation to reduce staff turnover.
  •  Facilitate exit clearance in liaison with line managers and other departments.

Policy & Procedures

  • Ensure all staff read and understand all policies and procedures, handle any queries regarding the policies.
  • Provide interpretation and advise to line managers on labour laws application.

Performance Management

  •  Advise staff and line managers on performance management process and tools.
  •  Track completion of performance objectives and reviews for all staff and submit regular status update to the Chief Operations Officer.
  • Ensure that all newly hired staff have completed probationary performance reviews

KEY COMPETENCIES:

  • A bachelor’s degree in HR, Administration, Management or any other relevant field.
  • Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management
  • Member of the Institute of Human Resource Management
  • At least 5 years’ experience, in a hospital set-up.
  • Proven knowledge and direct experience in at least two of the following areas; recruitment; compensation and benefits, employee relations and communications, performance management and HR practice.
  • Thorough understanding of labour laws
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize conflicting assignments
  • High sense of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Tact and diplomacy in handling sensitive issues
