Job Description
Hotpoint Appliances Ltd was established in 1984. Its first store was located in the Sarit Centre shopping mall in Nairobi. In late 1990s Hotpoint was awarded the Sole Distributorship Agency for LG Electronics. Later on, it went on to acquire agencies for other global brands including Ariston, Westpoint and Kenwood.
Retail Facilities Maintenance Assistant
- Location Nairobi
Reports to: Retail Project Manager
Job Purpose
- To ensure all retail outlets are maintained to company’s standards and according to international best practices
Job Responsibility and Accountability
- Prepare maintenance schedules for all equipment, stands and structural work and ensure they are carried out as planned by authorized service partners
- Ensure periodic maintenance is done for any and all equipment, stands and structural work within the showrooms and keep all the records
- Responsible for general maintenance of the premises including minor repair works, painting, replacement of fixtures and fittings.
- Ensure safety around the premises and report any damages and incidents
- Ensure refilling of gas cylinders and refueling of generators is done where applicable
- Ensure all the equipment at the facility operate optimally and efficiently by supervising the maintenance process.
- Maintain relationship with statutory bodies on technical issues
- Recommend/ source for external contractors for repair works within the premises.
- Adopt innovative approaches in the management of the facilities.
- Initiate the requisition of needed spare parts and repair items
- Carry out all responsibilities in accordance with the company’s Environmental, Quality and Safety policies and strategies.
- Champion continuous process improvement strategies
- Maintain excellent relationship with internal and external customers.
- Carry out maintenance operations with efficient cost benefit considerations.
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by your Supervisor.
Qualification
- Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical or Mechatronics engineering or relevant field.
- Proficient in computers with working knowledge of MS Office
- Advanced practical knowledge of electrical, plumbing and mechanical (air conditioning) with ability to repair and resolve issues personally when necessary
- Current and valid motorcycle driving license will be an added advantage
Experience
- 3-5 years practical experience in maintenance of equipment, stands and structural works
- Ability to read, interpret data and create reports as required.
- Experience in reporting and emergency response planning.
- Ability to organize, multitask and prioritize activities.
