Implements and administers project medical services subcontracts and agreements in accordance with governmental, legal and professional laws and regulations. Works independently to plan, develop, monitor and evaluate the health, hygiene and medical services for the project and its operating facilities, including multiple work camps and quarries for over 4,000 project staff. Assists departments and subcontractors in health programs, monitoring health systems, collecting data, and implementing emergency response capabilities. This position is for the Nairobi Mombasa Expressway Project. The location of position will be Nairobi with expectations of mobilizing to the camp at some point 2019. There is relocation assistance associated with this position.

Responsible for integration of environmental issues, particularly around wildlife management and mitigation requirements for the Project, and into planning documents, permit applications, design specifications and criteria, construction plans and schedules, and subcontract packages. Has technical responsibility for interpreting complex requirements, evaluating and applying appropriate scientific principles, and formulating scopes of work, plans, and methodologies suitable for achieving environmental best practice and maintaining compliance with environmental requirements and plans. Provides technical assistance to other Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H), Engineering, and Construction, Stakeholder Engagement and Sustainability personnel on the project.

For the Nairobi Mombasa Expressway Project, this Wildlife Conservation Manager will be responsible for technical guidance on wildlife conservation, ecology, and mitigation practices to minimize and/or prevent environmental impacts per project and regulatory requirements. This includes maintaining/establishing relationships and engagement with conservation NGOs to ensure effective communication and continued cooperation with respect to minimizing biodiversity impacts. It also includes advising the project team (Construction, Engineering, etc.) regarding environmental requirements and mitigation measures based on industry best practice, Kenyan regulatory requirements, IFC Sustainability Performance Standards, World Bank EHS Guidelines, and the Project Environment and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA).
